Carlin & Associates Announces Senior Executive Appointments

DALLAS – February 27, 2007 – Carlin & Associates, LLC, a leading provider of medical transcription consulting services, today announced that Dr. Steven Mandell and Barbara Manny have joined the Company as Senior Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President, respectively.

Mandell has more than 30 years of experience in information systems development and strategic consulting. During his career, he has acted as corporate legal counsel for Fortune 500 firms, served as a Professor of Computer Science at Bowling Green University, where he developed a joint international business program, and has authored more than 100 computer science texts. Mandell led early efforts to establish international intellectual property standards in software development and has extensive experience as a senior-level management consultant. Most recently, Mandell was President and Chief Executive Officer of Heartland Information Services, a global medical transcription company and the owner of several successful Internet-based start-ups.

Manny has extensive experience in health information management and process engineering. For the past 15 years she has held senior positions in management consulting, business process analysis, regulatory compliance and information privacy. Manny comes to Carlin & Associates from Heartland Information Services where she was Vice President of Compliance and Corporate Development, creating and operating a global compliance office responsible for the enforcement of HIPAA privacy legislation and establishment of practices relating to the handling of confidential medical documentation.
